Its full steam ahead for the DSUK Race the Train 2018 on Saturday 2nd June in association with Cairngorm Runners.
This is a fantastic 7k trail race against the Strathspey Steam Train from Boat of Garten along the Speyside Way to Aviemore. Much of the race, especially the second half, runs by the railway track, if you hear the train coming you'd better stoke your engine and sprint for the finish!
The DSUK Race the Train event is a wonderful team building event or an enjoyable challenge for the solo runner.
It also promises to be a wonderful day out for spectators too, find a spot-on route and cheer the runners on or enjoy some refreshments at the Route 7 Café, which is the ideal place to relax before the runners come in – hopefully beating the train!
Entries: This event will initially be limited to 200 running spaces and the date of online registration and race time will be announced soon. Don’t “miss the train” show your interest in the event and be kept up to speed with registrations details etc.
General Information • There are no water stations on the route. • The track is not suitable for wheelchair users. • Children are not permitted to run alongside runners. • Dogs are not permitted on the race track, not even on a lead. This is strict condition of the race being permitted to pass through the RSPB and SNH controlled areas.
